ABOUT the church
Our Roots
In 1989, a Christian fellowship known as Bethesda, led by Peter Woskan emerged in Mascot. It operated under the auspices of Petersham Assembly of God (now REVIVE). Subsequently, Bethesda formed the Indonesian Christian Fellowship Centre (ICFC) as part of AOG’s ethnic services.
In 1991, senior Pastor Tony Hallow of AOG appointed Pastor Herman Muljadi as the head pastor of ICFC. Then in 1999, the church acquired a building in Regents Park renaming itself as Indonesian Christ Family Church. Pastor Herman Muljadi retired as senior pastor in 2014, and was succeeded by Pastor Jhon and Herniwati Halim, who, along with the leadership team—pursued the Church's vision to spread the Word of God across all nations.
In 2016, ICFC transitioned to Assembly Church, focusing on the next generation of Australians. In 2021, after many years, the Regents Park property was sold to accommodate expansion and multiple services. The Church temporarily relocated to a snug space in Smithfield while awaiting the construction of a new site in Fairfield. Join us every Sunday at 9:30AM!
The ACC
Assembly Church is part of the Pentecostal denomination, and our beliefs are in line with those of the ACC, read here.
We accept the Bible as God's Word, prioritise spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20), try to embody the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and welcome the power of the Holy Spirit.
Word of faith
Jesus is the centre of my life;
I believe I am blessed to be a blessing;
His grace and love has saved me from sin and death;
By His Word, I will grow in maturity every day and be fruitful in Jesus;
I will have victory over my temptations because God is the source of my strength;
My life will succeed and no curse may fall upon me;
As for me and my family, we will serve and worship the Lord with our life;
All honour and all Glory belongs to Him;
Hallelujah!
